Ferriday under boil water notice
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Town of Ferriday is under a boil water advisory until further notice.

"It's a matter of safety being the better part of valor," said Ferriday Mayor Glen McGlothin. "Our tank has been taking in rain water and now it's draining and gotten to the point where we could have some problems."

McGlothin said more equipment is needed that repairs should have been made in 2006.

"We don't want anybody to get sick," he said, and "will let everyone know when the advisory is no longer in effect."

McGlothin said he will be seeking assistance from the National Guard and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide drinking water for Ferriday residents.
