Archaelogist Joanne Ryan with Coastal Environments of Baton Rouge has done field work at the site of the old Spanish fort in Concordia, which was built in 1767. Using Google Earth, Ryan marked the locations of the old fort and of the northern most Acadian farm house, located six miles south of the fort. She used her "best guess as to where the bank line use to be, based on Section lines that now extend out into the river."
