Monterey softball hands out awards

Monterey's softball team handed out awards to its 2009 squad.

Freshman Ellen Bairnsfather was named Most Valuable Player and also won the Pitching Award for having 85 strikeouts and was presented the .300 Hitting Club Award for hitting .348.

Taylor Morace was awarded as Co-Captain, while Casey White also received the .300 Hitting Club Award (.300).

Holli Clay received the Captain's Award, while Brooke Baker won the Golden Glove Infield Award and Captain Award.

Ariel Hector received the Most Assists Award, while Lauren New was named Most Improved for the Lady Wolves.

The Golden Glove Outfield Award and Coach's Award went to Logan Dale.

Paige Bryan and Karlee Woodruff received the Rookie Award.
