Funeral services for Jacob Wesley Warden, 88, of Ferriday were held Monday, June 22, 2009, at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with Rev. James Gass officiating.

Burial followed at New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Mr. Warden was born September 2, 1920, in McHenery, MS, to Leon A. and Ruth S. Warden. He passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Ferriday.

Mr. Warden had been a resident of Ferriday for over 50 years and retired from the oil field as a roughneck and driller. Mr. Warden was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Air Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include a brother, Leon Warden of Clayton and numerous nieces and nephews.
