Concordia Americans unbeaten

The Concordia American Machine Pitch All-Stars defeated Winnsboro Americans, 19-9 in the first round of the Machine Pitch District 5 South Tournament Tuesday after going 5-0 in round robin play.

The Concordia Nationals fell to South Franklin, 8-3.

The top two teams in the tournament advance to the Machine Pitch State Tournament in DeRidder.

The Concordia Americans will play Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of the South Franklin-Winnsboro Nationals game.

The Concordia Nationals face Catahoula today (Wednesday) at 6 p.m.

The Concordia Americans were led Tuesday by Nick Melton, who scored three runs.

Caden Poole, Trey Poole, Trent Jordan, Drake Smith and Trent Miller scored two runs each. Tony Tolliver, Paul Cupstid and Jacob Beard scored one run each.

Scoring three runs for Concordia Nationals were Brandon Thompson, Jarred Simpson and Tyson Jenkins.

In other action, Winnsboro Nationals defeated Catahoula, 9-2.

In round robin play, Concordia Americans defeated South Franklin, 19-8.

Nic Melton, Tanner Jenkins and Trey Poole scored three runs each. Dawson Parker, Doodie Smith and Trenton Miller scored two runs each. Trent Jordan, Paul Cupstid and Jacob Beard scored one run each.

Concordia's Nationals fell to South Franklin, 18-3.

Trey Gill, Jarred Simpson and Dylan Palmer scored runs for the Nationals.

Winnsboro Nationals defeated Concordia Nationals, 19-4.

Alden Cupit, Brandon Thompson, Jarred Simpson and Cole McGivaren scored one run each.

South Franklin defeated Winnsboro Nationals, 14-1.

Winnsboro Nationals beat Winnsboro Americans, 30-9.

It was Winnsboro Nationals over Catahoula, 5-2, while South Franklin beat Catahoula. 13-12.

Catahoula defeated the Winnsboro Americans 24-23 in a game that lasted 10 innings and two-and-a-half hours Saturday afternoon.
