St. Louis Post-Dispatch

With the uncertainty surrounding the extent of infielder-outfielder Mark DeRosa's left wrist injury suffered Tuesday night, the St. Louis Cardinals recalled second baseman Jarrett Hoffpauir from Class AAA Memphis and sent out righthander Clayton Mortensen, who allowed six runs in three innings in his major league debut on Monday.

The 26-year-old Hoffpauir, hitting .276, will become the 15th rookie to play for the Cardinals this season and ninth to make his major-league debut. DeRosa reported to the park with a brace on his wrist but it was not immediately known how long he would be sidelined.
