Maxwell reappointed to levee board Gov. Bobby Jindal has announced reappointments to the Board of Commissioners for the Fifth Louisiana Levee District, including Barry Maxwell of Ferriday.
The Board of Commissioners for the Fifth Louisiana Levee District is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the levees and maintaining the levee drainage system within East Carroll, Madison, Tensas and Concordia Parishes.
According to the statute, the board is comprised of two gubernatorial appointees from each parish within the district.
Reappointments to the Board of Commissioners for the Fifth Louisiana Levee District:
Barry Maxwell, of Ferriday, is a professional auctioneer and member of the Ferriday Rotary Club. Maxwell was reappointed to serve as a representative of Concordia Parish, as required by statute.
Sam Hill, of Tallulah, is the manager of Jimmy Sanders, Inc., a seed, chemical and fertilizer company, and a member of the Madison Parish Farm Bureau Board. Hill was reappointed to serve as a representative of Madison Parish, as required by statute.
James Kelley, of Newellton, is a retired principal with the Tensas Parish School Board. Kelley was reappointed to serve as a representative of Tensas Parish, as required by statute.
Jack Mabray, Jr., of Newellton, is a self-employed farmer and member of the Tensas State Bank Board of Directors. Mabray was reappointed to serve as a representative of Tensas Parish, as required by statute.
Jack Varner, Jr., of Tallulah, is the owner of Varner Farms. Varner was reappointed to serve as a representative of Madison Parish, as required by statute. |
