Ferriday hosting 10-year old tournament
Ferriday is hosting the Dixie Youth 10-year-old sub-district tournament beginning Saturday at the Dixie Youth complex.
The tournament has a round robin format.
Winnsboro faces South Franklin Saturday at 6 p.m., followed by Concordia against Madison at 8 p.m.
On Monday, July 6, Catahoula faces Madison at 6 p.m., followed by Concordia against Winnsboro at 8 p.m.
On July 7, South Franklin faces Catahoula at 6 p.m., followed by Winnsboro against Madison.
On July 8, Catahoula faces Winnsboro at 6 p.m. Concordia meets South Franklin at 8 p.m.
Concordia meets Catahoula July 9 at 6 p.m., followed by Madison against South Franklin.
If two teams are tied for first place after July 9, a playoff game will be played on July 10. If two teams are tied for second place, they will play on July 10.
The top two teams in the sub-district will advance to the district tournament in West Carroll.
The Concordia Pre-Majors played two games in Bastrop, falling to Franklin and Morehouse.
The Concordia Majors defeated Franklin in their first game in nine innings before losing a one-run game to Morehouse.
The Concordia Majors bounced back Tuesday night with a 9-7 in over Northeast.
The Concordia Majors must beat Morehouse twice today (Wednesday) to win the district championship.
The 9-year-olds will compete in a district tournament in Monroe beginning July 4.
The 11-year-old all-stars will compete in the district tournament in Monroe beginning July 4.
The 12-year-old all-star team will compete in sub-district play beginning July 4 in Winnsboro. |
