East Central to compete at State The East Central Dirtbags Dixie Major All-Stars will face Bossier Americans Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in Independence in the first game of the Dixie Majors State Tournament.
East Central finished second to Morehouse Parish in the district tournament, actually defeating Morehouse 23-19 to force a second championship game, won by Morehouse, 6-4.
If East Central wins its first game, the Dirtbags will play the Franklin Ponchatula winner Sunday at 3 p.m.
If they lose, they will play the Morehouse-Terrebonne loser at noon Sunday.
Bayou, Moss Bluff, Independence and Monroe are also competing.
The winner of the state tournament advances to the World Series in South Carolina.
The East Central Pre-Majors team lost two games at the district tournament in Bastrop. |
