Ferriday softball teams headed to State

Ferriday's fast-pitch softball teams are on to State after winning district championships.

The Ferriday 12-under team defeated Winnsboro 3-1 in Delhi Thursday in the championship game.

Paige Bryan allowed three hits in the win.

Karlee Woodruff tripled, while Taylor Rogers and Chelsea Richards singled.

Ferriday begins play in the state tournament Saturday in Pineville.

Ferriday defeated Jonesville 7-3 on July 8.

Paige Bryan got the win.

Chelsea Richards, Taylor Rogers and Bryant each had hits.

Ferriday's Dixie Belles 13-15 team defeated Jonesville 14-3 for the district title and will begin state tournament play Saturday in Winnsboro.

Laura Perrilloux got the win for the Dixie Belles.

Ellen Bairnsfather, Molly Devening, KeKe Collins and Kennedy Beard had multiple hits in the contest.

Ferriday defeated Swartz 14-3 on July 8.

Perrilloux got the win.

Daggett homered and singled, while Allison Hauer had two doubles. Savannah Johnston had a triple and single. Molly Devening, Kimble Devening, Collins, Perrilloux and Bairnsfather singled.

At the 10-under district tournament, Ferriday defetaed West Carroll 5-1 on July 8.

Ashley Williams got the win, striking out 11.

Williams triple, while Elizabeth Smith and Bailey Book doubled.
