Wedding White - McCraney
 Shemeka L. White and Rafuiell McCraney were married June 7, 2009, 4 p.m. at St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore with Minister Robert Cook officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Mark White and Mr. and Mrs. Henderson Cook, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Johnson, Jr., all of Ferriday.
Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalist Tiffany M. Davis, Kimberly Jolla and Carlin Ross.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a gown of white satin and tulle by Forever Yours. The strapless gown was in a mermaid style with a drop waistline and sweetheart neckline, The gown which featured intricate embroidery and beading flowed into a chapel-length train.
The bride's sister, Onya T. Carter, of Baton Rouge attended as matron of honor. She wore a navy floor length taffeta gown with a sheered bodice, cummerbund and jacket.
Bridesmaids were Candice M. Carter of Memphis, TN, Ursula Brooks-Moore and LaToya Johnson, both of Natchez, Mardrah M. Robinson, Tiffany Northern and Melisha L. Poole, all of Baton Rouge, and Tonya Onwuchekwa of Phoenix, AZ. They wore mint green taffeta floor length gowns with a sheered bodice and cummerbund.
Serenity and Faith Collins, both of Baton Rouge, were flower girls.
Maurice Bachus of Ferriday served as best man. Groomsmen were Lavelle Collins, Sean Cook, Rafael Cook, Danny McCraney, Demontrica Montgomery, Michael Weatherspoon, and Ahren Williams, all of Ferriday.
Ushers were Branda Allen of Shreveport and Joshua McCraney of Humble, TX.
Candlelighters were Andre' Singleton and LaDresha Walker, both of Phoenix, AZ.
Zil L. Carter of Memphis, TN, was ring bearer.
Miniature groom was Briasen L. McCraney, the bride and groom's son, and miniature bride was Jayli Northern of Baton Rouge.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Grand Soleil Hotel. Assisting were Beatrice Williams, Betty Cook, Janice Ceasor, Evelyn Hunter, Anthony and Marilyn Hunter, Rosalind Bunch, Tammy Allen, Betty Walker, Connie King, Barbara McCraney, Delnora Cook and coordinator Doretha Cook.
The couple will live in Vidalia. |
