She graduated from ULM with a degree in Criminal Justice and received the doctor of jurisprudence degree from Mississippi College School of Law. Returning to Winnsboro, Laurie married Michael Poland May 18, 2002 and began her law practice in an office with Attorney Mike Kramer. For the last five years, Laurie has served as an attorney with the La. State Dept. of Social Services covering an 11 parish area.
Laurie loved all children and was called Lollie or LaLa by most. Her sisters' children were very special to her. She delighted in giving them toys that made lots of noise or had lots of pieces! She loved practical jokes and a good laugh. Laurie loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and water sports. She and Michael enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles and she was a lifetime member of the Ladies of Harley and the Harley owners group.
Laurie was loved by all and made friends wherever she went. We will miss her funny cards that were received on every occasion, her quick wit, and her beautiful smile. We will love and remember her always. |
