Funeral services for Mr. Herman Leon Boothe, 73, of Harrisonburg were held at Harrisonburg United Pentecostal Church on Sunday, August 2, 2009, 12 p.m. with Rev. Jason Paul and Rev. David Bailey officiating.

Interment followed at Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Mr. Boothe was born February 13, 1936, and passed away Thursday July 30, 2009.

He was a resident of Harrisonburg, a well-known barber, retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation, and was a member of the Harrisonburg United Pentecostal Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Truman "Perk" Boothe.

Survivors include daughters, Cindy and her husband, Joe Bales of Beaumont, TX, Gayla Howington and her husband, Eddie of Hernando, MS; mother, Edna Mitchell Boothe of Jonesville; brother, Truman Boothe of Harrisonburg; two granddaughters, Carly Bales and Haley Howington; and two grandsons, Cyle Bales and Hayden Howington.

Pallbearers were Brad Boothe, Carl Boothe, Shane Boothe, Quion Coleman, Jackie Owens and James Sones.

Honorary pallbearers were Billy Floyd, Joel Boothe, DeWayne Boothe and Glen McGlothin.
