Where is North Louisiana? Join the Concordia Parish Library for the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities Program entitled, "Where is North Louisiana?" slated to begin August 13th at the Vidalia Library from 6-8 p.m.
Dr. Georgiann Potts will lead discussions on art, food, religion, music, and other topics pertaining to the region. This reading and discussion program will be held for six weeks, every Thursday with a different topic about North Louisiana.
Dr. Georgiann Potts has a Master's in English from University of Louisiana at Monroe and has developed an upper-level course at the university called "Louisiana Life and Literature". As a small business owner since 1970, Dr. Potts presents custom seminars in business and technical communications for businesses.
She has taught English for 13 years at both the high school and college level. Dr. Potts was the first woman named director of the public relations office at University of Louisiana at Monroe. She has been part of the Humanities RELIC for eight years and has been selected twice to develop a pilot series for consideration.
Books are available at the library so call and reserve your set today. The books being discussed are "Shreveport Sounds in Black and White," "On My Way: The Arts of Sarah Albritton," "Louisiana Power and Light," and "Swaggart: The Unauthorized Biography of an America Evangelist."
