Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes T. Hales, 96, of Ferriday, were held at Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday, on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Russell Crum officiating.

Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mrs. Hales was born May 14, 1913 in Utica, MS, and passed away Wednesday August 12, 2009 at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. She worked for Myers Dry Goods, Doris's Dress Shop, and she was volunteer with the Pink Ladies at Riverland Medical Center. Mrs. Hales was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ferriday.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Chester Hales; father, Jake Cleveland Templeton; mother, Rose Green Templeton; son-in-law, Billy Burley; brothers, Charles and Don Templeton; and sisters, Dorothy Lutrick and Carolyn Barker.

Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Burley of Vidalia; grandsons, Bill Burley of Monterey, Michael and wife, Ann Burley of Ferriday; granddaughter, Melinda Pat of Ferriday; great-grandchildren -- Zachery, Hayden, Lynn Pat, Rex, and Bailey; sisters, Kathrine Price and Velma Johnston; and brother, Don Templeton.

Pallbearers were Bill Burley, Michael, Zachary Burley, Hayden Patt, Tom Milliken and John Taylor.
