Bowden picks up ninth save
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Barry Bowden picked up his ninth save of the season Tuesday as the Burlington Bees defeated Kane County 14-1.

Bowden pitched the ninth inning allowing just one hit with two strikeouts.

Bowden is 3-2 on the season for the Kansas City Royals' Class A Minor League affiliate. He had 63 strikeouts and 22 walks on the season.

Kane County starting pitcher Mathieu Leblanc-Poirier threw five wild pitches, which is one short of a Midwest League record.

The Bees put up 14 runs on 17 hits and with losses by both Clinton and Quad Cities, the Bees are tied with Quad Cities one game behind Clinton for the final playoff spot in the Western division.
