Funeral services for Renza Dale Sewell, 81, of Vidalia were held today, Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchez with Father Brandt Dick officiating.

Burial followed at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Renza Dale Sewell was born on January 15, 1928 in Natchez, the daughter of Lessley Davis Dale and Evalyn Hiserodt Fleming Dale. She died August 22, 2009, at Natchez Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Capt. Catesby Edward Schiele, Jr. and Joseph Logan Sewell, Sr; and a daughter, Linda Schiele Robb.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Natchez Pilgrimage Garden Club, American Society of Arms Collectors, Antique Bowie Knife Association and Historical Natchez Foundation. She was an avid hunter, and collector of antiquities.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Logan Sewell, Jr. and wife, Catherine, of Washington, MS; one daughter, Jane Schiele Petty and husband, Glen, of Ferriday; two grandsons, James Washington Robb IV and wife, Destiney, and Logan N. Sewell; one granddaughter, Lessley Petty; four great-grandchildren, Mila Dale Robb, Shanon James Robb, Ethan Davis Robb and Bailey Warden; a number of nieces and nephews; and several faithful sitters.

Pallbearers were Johnny Dale, Richard Campbell, Pierre Adams, Chuck Gilbert, Mike Worley, and Pat Biglane.

Honorary pallbearers were Percy Rountree, Joe Schiele, Bob Berryman, Jerry Sims, Jack Royse, John Owens, Connell Miller, Jr., Bill McGehee, and Billy Dale.
