Cathedral upended by Loyd Star Cathedral High head coach Craig Beesley would love to get back on the football field Friday night after his Green Wave team fell to Loyd Star, 27-0, in its season opener Friday at Cathedral.
Unfortunately, the Green Wave have an open date before going to Enterprise on September 11.
"It's good in one way and bad in another," Beesley said. "We would definitely like to get back on the field, but we know there are some things we have to work on. We're still adding some things to our offense, so this will give us a chance to do that."
Loyd Star improved to 2-0 after knocking off Franklin County in the opening week.
"It was tough facing somebody that good that had a game under their belt while we putting in a new offense," Beesley said. "But it was still a two-touchdown game at halftime. I'm proud of our effort and hopefully we can improve each week and be ready by the time we get to district. Loyd Star was definitely one of the best defensive teams we'll play all year."
CHS quarterback Dylan White finished the game 5-for-11 with 34 yards passing.
He also had 15 rushing yards.
Cathedral plays at Enterprise on Sept. 11. |
