Martha Hays Graveside services for Martha Hays, 88, of Waterproof were held Saturday, September 5, 2009, 1 p.m. at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.
Burial followed under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Hays was born December 12, 1920, in Birmingham, AL, the daughter of William and Mattie Long. She died Thursday, September 3, 2009, at her residence.
She was a resident of Waterproof and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Bruin Hays; her parents; and a daughter, Martha Frances Hays Smith.
Survivors include one daughter, Corinne Talbert of New Orleans; one stepdaughter, Betty Hazlip and husband, Joe, of Waterproof; two stepsons, Magruder Hays and wife, Madeline, and Peter Hays Jr. and wife, Jerry, all of Lafayette. She was also survived by 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great granchildren; and many family and friends.
Pallbearers were Bryan Talbert, Mason Talbert, Larry Talbert, Scott Smith, Pat Hazlip and Magruder Hazlip. |
