Adams County Christian School improved to 2-1 on the season with a 46-8 win over Amite School Center Friday in Natchez.

"We didn't turn the ball over and we didn't have many penalties," said ACCS coach Paul Hayles. "We feel like if we would have done that all year we would be 3-0, but we're excited about where we are now and counting our blessings."

Junior running back Brandon Sanders rushed for 117 yards on 12 carries.

Kent Yates was 7-for-7 passing for 124 yards and two touchdowns. ACCS finished with 378 yards of total offense and turned the ball over only twice.

ACCS's defense also stepped up with four interceptions, including two by Lee Swinney and one each by Bryce Murray and Dillon Johnson.

ACCS hosts Wilkinson County Christian Academy Friday. Hayles left WCCA to accept the head coaching job at his alma mater, ACCS.

"I'm still very fond of the people there," Hayles said. "It's a great school and I still keep in touch with a lot of people there. They have outstanding players. But they are our opponent now. They'll get after us and we'll get after them."
