Huntington hosts Riverdale
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Huntington School head football coach Chad Harkins wants his team to just focus on the business at hand and not at its current 1-3 mark, which includes a heartbreaking Mississippi Association of Independent Schools District 6A opening loss to Tallulah Academy last week.

The Hounds hosts Riverdale of Coushatta Friday in a non-district contest.

"We just need to minimize the distractions around us and concentrate on getting better each week and competing hard," Harkins said. "We have to keep our heads up. We still have an opportunity to have a good season. There are some good football players on this team who are going to get better. We've got a small, young offensive line, but they are doing a decent job."

Huntington jumped on Riverdale 36-0 last year before holding on for a 36-20 win.

"They are a lot like they were last year," Harkins said. "We just have to go over there and take care of the football and play the way we are capable of playing."
