Trinity drops first game
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Trinity Episcopal dropped its first game of the season as the Saints fell to River Oaks 27-25 Friday.

"I was worried about that game because I didn't think the kids were focused and they just outplayed us," said Trinity coach David King

River Oaks had the first two touchdowns of the game on runs by Ryan McGregor and Davis Harris to jump out to a somewhat comfortable lead.

From there, Trinity got on the board in the final seconds of the first quarter, and the two teams continued to trade trips to the endzone.

Trinity got back in the game in the second half as Givonni Dent passed 13 yards to R.J. Fleming with 8:54 to go in the third quarter and Dent completed a 28-yard scoring pass to Chas Moroney with 4:20 to in the ball game.

Trinity hosts Brookhaven, which upset Centreville last week.

"We've had good, spirited practices this week," King said. "Brookhaven is going to be another test. They throw the football as well as anybody in the state. It's going to be a big challenge, but we're looking forward to it."
