Block forfeits games Block High was forced to forfeit its wins over Vidalia and Jena after it was ruled a player who moved from Jena was ruled ineligible to play.
Block lost its games to Ferriday, Bastrop and Mangham, which makes them 0-5.
Mangham defeated Block 30-23 Friday.
"I was told before the season he was eligible and I should know because his mother is my first cousin," said Block coach Benny Vault. "It was a bonafide move. I don't agree with the ruling. But we're going to put this behind us and move on. We have to win our district now and that starts Friday."
Block hosts Northwood for Homecoming.
"They are down to about 15 players, but they play hard until the end," Vault said. "Our kids are focused on what's ahead and we're fixing to start rolling again." |
