Cathedral earns first win With an offense that has been stuck in the mud most of the season, the Cathedral Green Wave used a muddy field to find its running game, accumulating more than 400 yards in total offense in a 35-14 win over West Lincoln Friday.
"It's always good to get that first win, I just hate it came in the sixth week," said Cathedral coach Craig Beesley
Dylan White scored on runs of four and two yards and passed 23 yards to Daniel Huffines for another score.
JaDarius Ealey had 175 rushing yards, including scoring runs of six and four yards.
"JaDarius and the offensive line did a great job in the second half," Beesley said.
Cathedral hosts St. Aloysius Thursday night. The game was moved up a day because of the Mississippi River Balloon Race this weekend.
"It's a typical St. Al team, they wil be aggressive," Beesley said. "They lost their starting tailback who tore three ligaments earlier, but I'm sure someone will step up for them."
St. Al senior Blake Haygood, making his first start of the season at wide receiver, caught nine passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in St Al's 34-0 win over Salem last week. His reception total was two short of tying the Warren County single-game record shared by three players.Regan Nosser completed 13 of 22 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns.
"It will be a typical Cathedral-St Al game, very intense," Beesley said. |
