Brocato added to poll The Concordia Sentinel has had several requests to add Tony Brocato to its list of Top 25 athletes in Concordia Parish for a current poll.
Brocato was an All-state performer for the state championship Ferriday Bulldog teams of the 1950s.
Brocato went on to Oklahoma State before transferring to Camden College of Lawton, Ok., whre he was an All-American end.
Brocato also won the heavyweight title of the Oklahoma state AAU boxing title. The top five vote-getters at the end of October will put them into one poll to be voted on until Christmas.
At the start of the new year, I will do features on the top three vote-getters.
Right now Donnie Daye leads the pack with more than 46 votes.
Walter Johnson has 24, while Keith Woodside follows at 20.
Right now, the fourth and fifth spots look to be a horse race between Jarrett Hoffpauir, Max Fugler, Nathaniel Williams, Mack Moore Jr., Gerald Vaught, Shawn Griggs, George Cupit and Eddie Ray Jackson.
Still plenty of time for Tony Brocato to make a run. |
