AC falls to Sillman

Adams County Chrstian School came up just short in a key MAIS District 5-AA contest, falling to Silliman 18-15 in Clinton Friday.

"The kids fought to the absolute end," said AC coach Paul Hayles.

The Rebels blocked a punt in the fourth quarter, but missed on a fourth-and-12 with 1:20 remaining to end the contest.

ACCS scored on a 25-yard pass from quarterback Kent Yates to Daniel Guedon in the second. The final touchdown of the game came on a 24-yard reception by the Rebels' Lee Swinney.

AC hosts Centreville Friday.

"They line up with two tight ends and come right at you," Hayles said. "And that sets up the play-action they run so well. We have to try and find a way to move the chains and make them earn everything they get. They are a machine and they are getting seasoned at the right time."
