Vidalia falls to Bunkie

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Having been stuffed by the Vidalia defense all night and staring a first District 3-3A loss in the face, Bunkie went to its bag of tricks with time winding down on the clock at Dee Faircloth Viking Stadium Friday night.

Trailing 14-13 and needing to go 83 yards for a touchdown with just over two minutes to go, the Panthers went to a play they have not used all year long.

Panther senior quarterback Kendrick Leary moved to the slot position as a receiver - something he had done several times during the season. Junior quarterback Hudson Bain came out for his first snap of the game. Leary went in motion just as the ball was snapped and Bain quickly pitched the ball to Leary. Leary ran a couple of steps and then stopped. He unleashed a pass across the field to sophomore receiver Montrey Mitchell.
