Jones-Liddell feud reenactment set Saturday

The Catahoula Parish Police Jury has issued a proclamation which reads that "recognizes the work of the Catahoula Historical Society & Museum Society to enhance tourism by having a reenactment of said feud in Jonesville, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana, we do hereby declare Saturday, November 7th, as the JONES LIDDELL FEUD DAY."

The event is slated for Saturday, November 7, at the Four River Parks beginning at 2 p.m. Admission is free.

Mayor Hiram Evans will give the welcome at 12:45 p.m., followed by National Anthem, Theresa Trisler; and Museum and Great Mound, Bill Atkins.

Entertainment will be outside the Sea Wall and feature:

Mt Sinai Men's Quartet with professional musicians-11:00 to 11:45; Lavinia Mason, Mary Scoggins, Rhonda & Jackie Morris-12:00 to 12:45

Arts & Crafts: (outside the sea wall, open at 8 a.m.), featuring 3 booths.

Food Booths: Vendors, Jonesville Woman's Club, First United Methodist Church, Straw Hat Society, Patrick Hutchens.

Guests for the feud reenactment are asked to bring lawn chairs. A golf cart will be available for transportation to the seating area. Bathroom facilities will be available. Donation boxes will be available to donate to the museum project.

"The Jones Liddell Feud" booklet, written by W. D. Cotton, will be available for sale at a cost of $4.

All actors and committee members will be recognized at the end of the drama.

Attendees are asked to be in the seating area inside the sea wall by 12:45 for the preliminaries; the feud will begin promptly at 1 p.m.

The presentation will conclude in time for the 2:30 p.m. football game between LSU and Alabama.
