Lady Hounds fall in opener

Huntington's Lady Hounds opened their season with a 63-28 loss to Class 2A power Parklane Monday at the Adams County Christian School Tip-Off Tournament.

The Lady Hounds trailed 40-20 at halftime.

Abi Brown led the Lady Hounds with nine points. Abbey Ashmore, Natali Tarver and Alli Booth each finished the game with four points.

Tensas Academy's girls defeated Wilkinson County Christian Academy Tuesday night.

Emma Areneaux led the Lady Chiefs with 10 points.

Host team ACCS lost to Oak Forest in action Tuesday night at ACCS.

Huntington will play Amite School Center Saturday in their final game ofthe tournament.

The junior varsity girls will tip off at 9 a.m. and the varsity girls at 10:15 a.m.

Tensas' girls play ACCS Saturday at around 8:15 p.m.

Huntington's boys tip off play Tuesday as the Hounds and the Lady Hounds host Brookhaven.

Both teams are coached by Edwin White, who is in his first year as head basketball coach of the varsity squads.
