Monterey High split a pair of games Tuesday night in its home opener as the Lady Wolves defated Grace Christian 62-45, while the Monterey boys fell to Grace Christian 37-25.

In the girls contest, Monterye led 14-12 after one period of play and 32-27 at halftime.

The Lady Wolves outscored the Lady Warriors 22-10 in the final quarter.

Eight players contributed to the scoring for Monterey, led by Ariel Hector with 21 points.

Ellen Bairnsfather added 14 points for the Lady Wovles, while Brooke Baker netted 12.

Monterey's boys trailed 19-8 after one period and 25-13 at halftime.

Monterey outscored Grace Christian 8-5 in the third period.

Josh Chapman led the Wolves with 13 points, while Cade Crum added nine.

Monterey hosts Forest Friday for its Homecoming contest.

The Wolves and Lady Wolves play at Cathedral Tuesday.
