Funeral services for Mrs. Carmen Elaine Boothe Doles, 65, of Rosepine were held at Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church in Harrisonburg on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 1 p.m. with the Revs. A. J. Kimball and George A. Boothe officiating.

Committal services followed at Ellis Boothe Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Mrs. Doles entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria. She was born on June 3, 1944, in Wisner to the union of Ellis M. and Doretta C. Boothe. Elaine graduated as co-valedictorian of Harrisonburg High School in 1962 where she was an all-district basketball player. She was also a graduate of Louisiana State University and retired as a budget analyst with the Department of the Army at Ft. Polk.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis M. Boothe; maternal grandparents, Henry and Alpha Cooper; and paternal grandparents, Ellis and Jincy Boothe.

She is survived by her adoring husband of 38 years, James Pat Doles; one daughter, Jincy Elaine Newman and spouse, David; one son, James Adrian Doles; and one precious grandson, Cade Newman, all of Rosepine. She is further survived by three brothers, Leo Boothe and wife, Kim, of Dunbarton, Shelby R. Boothe of King Salmon, AL, and Ellis M. Boothe, Jr., and wife, Mary Beth, of Jonesville. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends mourn her passing.

Serving as pallbearers were nephews Patrick Boothe, Chris Boothe, Joey Boothe, Barry Boothe, Wiley Boothe, and also Joe Hall and David Simmons.

Honorary pallbearers were Wyatt Boothe and Cade Newman.
