Huntington teams seeking first wins Huntington's boys and girls continued looking for that elusive first win as the Lady Hounds were beaten by Adams County Christian School's girls 59-19, while the Hound boys fell 55-43 to ACCS in Natchez Friday.
In the girls contest, Huntington trailed 19-4 after eon period and 27-5 at halftime.
Abi Brown led Huntington with 10 points.
Taylor Welch netted 15 for the Lady Rebels.
Huntington's boys led ACCS 7-5 after one period, but the Rebels outscored the Hounds 25-10 in the second period.
Kevin Brown led Huntington with 17 points, while Jess Dossett added eight.
Huntington dropped two games to Silliman Thursday.
Silliman's boys defeated the Hounds 58-36.
Jess Dossett netted 21 points for the Hounds.
Silliman led 9-4 after one period and 20-17 at halftime before outscoring the Hounds 17-7 in the third period.
Silliman's girls defeated Huntington 40-21.
Silliman led 9-3 after one period and 25-8 at halftime.
Abi Brown and Kristen Havard netted five points each for the Lady Hounds.
The Hounds and Lady Hounds both lost to Centreville in the Silliman Tournament on Monday.
Centreville girls defeated Huntington 44-37.
Allie Boothe led Huntington with 12 points, while Abbey Ashmore added 11.
"We're getting better," said Huntington coach Edwin White. "It's definitely a work in progress. But I'm seeing a lot of improvement."
Huntington hosts its annual doubleheader Monday and Tuesday before the holidays. |
