Search continues for missing Monterey Man -- Robert L. Wells

The Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking information concerning the whereabouts of a Monterey man missing since Friday, Nov. 6.

The family of Robert L. Wells, 61, says it's very unusual for him to disappear without contacting anyone by phone. Wells has family in Louisiana and in Houston, TX.

"He talks to everyone all the time," notes Wells' sister, Phyllis Wells of Houston. "That's why it's extremely odd for him not to make a call or answer his phone since Friday."

Wells is a black male, 6-feet tall, 185 pounds, with gray hair and a gray mustache. He suffered a stroke in June and is said to still have very high blood pressure. Family members are concerned that he may not have his medication with him.

A brother last saw him about 8 a.m. last Friday, and believes that Wells left his Finley Road residence in Monterey shortly after their visit and before 9 a.m. driving his 1997 black, two-door Chevrolet Blazer. The Louisiana license plate number is SDS 027. The vehicle also has an LSU plate on the front.

The family requests that hunters and farmers watch the less traveled roads for an abandoned vehicle.

It is believed that Wells purchased an auto part at Auto Zone in Ferriday Friday afternoon, Nov. 6. "We're hoping that someone may have worked on his car after that and maybe remembers Robert saying where he was going," said his brother, Marty Wells.

According to him, the missing man's three children who reside in Texas have not heard from their father either.

Anyone with any information concerning the whereabouts of Robert Wells is asked to immediately contact the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office at 318-757-3162, 318-336-5231 or 318-386-2200.
