Cecil Richardson
Funeral services for Cecil Richardson, 83, of Sicily Island were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009, at the Pinehill Baptist Church in Sicily Island with Brothers Kent Nugent and Bill Cotten officiating.
Burial was in the New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Mr. Richardson died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, in Alexandria. He was born October 9, 1926 in Lincoln County, Miss., the son of Clarence and Annie Richardson. A resident of the Leland community, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and worked for Sicily Island Sand and Gravel. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James L. Richardson and Leslie O. Richardson; sister, Christine Sumoncini; nephews, Lyle Richardson and Jimmy Newsom; and great nice, Angel Vandevelde.
Survivors include sisters, Pauline Richardson and Shelby R. Whisenhunt; special great nieces, Samantha Mays, Shondell Young and April Young; grandkids, Michael Richardson, Devin Mays, Matthew Mays, Victoria Mays, Brooklyn Young, Ashleigh Young, Shannon Young and Keira Young.
Pallbearers were Jackie W. Harper, Stacey Carraway, Brandon Mays, Lloyd Young, Bonnie Eubanks and Tommy Harper.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Richardson, Devin Mays and Matthew Mays. |
