Percy Lesandry Davis Funeral services for Percy Lesandry Davis, 84, of Vidalia were held Saturday, November 21, 2009, 10 a.m. at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday. Rev. Bobby Ensminger officiated.
Burial followed at Holly Grove Cemetery in Wisner.
Mr. Davis was born April 26, 1925 in Many to Meddie, Sr. and Lola N. Davis. He passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009, in Natchez.
Mr. Davis had been a resident of Vidalia since 1985 and of the Baptist faith. He was a retired oil field gauger for Chevron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Melvina Cates and Gracie Mae Bruce; three brothers, Joel, Meddie Jr., and Chester Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Davis of Vidalia; sons, Joey Davis and Percy Lee Davis, both of Electic, AL; daughter, Melba Duncan and husband, Greg Duncan, Sr., of Monterey; two brothers, Tallie Davis of Arkansas and Tommy Davis of Bernice; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Duncan, Bud Duncan, Cam Avery, Dewayne LaPrarie, James Davis, Gary Denton, Greg Duncan Jr., and Marshall Duncan.
Honorary pallbearers were Jachob LaPrarie, Caeleb LaPrarie, Colby Avery, Tuckery Avery, Landon Duncan, Jasper Carroll and Orion Denton. |
