Services for Ruby Perry Thompson, 84, of Vidalia, who died Friday December 4, 2009 at Riverland Medical Center in Feriday, were held Monday December 7, 2009, 10 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Rev. Ron Ledford officiating.

Burial followed at Elmo Cemetery in Jefferson County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thompson was born September 16, 1925, in Wilkinson County, MS, the daughter of Shad Perry Sr. and Emma Ashley Perry.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, E. E. 'Buddy' Thompson; son, Jerry L. Thompson, Sr.; brothers, Shad Perry, Jr., Pharoh Perry, Elvin Perry Sr., and Davis Perry; sisters, Jeanette Murray, Mary Anders, Celia Huff and Donis Havard.

Survivors include her children; Everrete Thompson, Jr., and wife, Becky of Vidalia, Horace Thompson and wife, Wanda of Natchez and Evelyn Beattie and husband, Mike of Crosby; daughter-in-law, Barbara Thompson Osborne; six grandchildren, Everette Elmo,lll, Curtis Thompson, Jerry ( Sonny ) Thompson, Jill Smith, Tammy King and Tracy Purser; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Bessie Coker and Pearlie Perry.

Pallbearers were Melvin Case, Cloy Case, Elton Perry, Jim Perry, Stanley Perry and Casey Lofton.
