Betty Steele Smith
Funeral services for Betty Steele Smith, 76, of Monterey will be held at Eva Church of God on Saturday, December 12, 2009, 10 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Simms officiating.
Interment will follow at Eva Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Smith was born June 1, 1933, in Eva and passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Taylor, Michigan. She was a resident of Monterey, a nurse and a member of the Eva Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dean Smith; father, David Wesley Stelle; and mother, Marion "Belle" Stelle.
Survivors include a son, Sam Wactor and wife, Linda, of Rhinehart; daughter, Sherry Jackson and husband, Don, of Taylor; brother, Wesley Steele of Vidalia; sisters, Mildred Pecanty of Monterey, Elmira Ferrington of Monterey, Elsie Mouch of Geismar, and Linda Manuel of Lake Charles; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Doughty, Archie Morris, Delbert Manuel, Bill Westberry, Benett Hotard and James Mouch.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Jackson, Joseph Manuel and Eugene Pecanty.
The family will receive friends at Eva Church of God from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2009. |
