Funeral services for Geanie S. Breland, 66, of Natchez, who died Friday, December 18, 2009, surrounded by her family were held Monday, December 21, 2009, 2 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Russell Wagoner of Cliff Temple Baptist Church officiating.
Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Geanie was born June 10, 1943, in Meridian. She was a resident of Natchez and a retired rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Agusta Farrell and Jack and Francis Sansing; two sisters, Jackie Nell Roberts and Georgia Lynn Gunter and her in-laws Curtis and Iva Lee Breland and James and Rosalie Eidt.
Survivors include her husband Doyle Breland; eight children, Jammie Brown of Natchez, Wendy Kelly and husband Mark of Laurel, Missi Johnson and husband Butch of Natchez, Joey Breland of Starkville, David Breland and wife Melinda of Natchez, Tammy Wilson and husband Gary of Jonesborough, Tenn., Debbie Dennis and husband Stan of Weaverville, N.C. and Pam Breland of Jonesborough; 19 grandchildren, Jeremy Tipton of Lake Charles, Andy Tipton of Natchez, Tommy Guin and Lacey Guin of Hattiesburg, Tianna Boyd of Zurich, Kan., Amanda Kelly of Littleton, Colo., Sarah George of Hattiesburg, Sydney Eidt and Jae Eidt of Natchez, Madison Johnson of Baton Rouge, Andrew Johnson of Natchez, Amanda Breland and Kristy Breland of Jonesborough, Colby Wilson of Natchez, Scott Wilson of Jonesboro, Tenn., Lana Jones of Raleigh, N.C., Lyndsey Clark of Weaverville, N.C., Bobby Dennis and Maggie Dennis of Weaverville; 12 great-grandchildren, Holly and John Boyd, Kyler and Aubrynn Elliott, Isabella and Eli Lopez, Natalie George, Laken Kestner, Denley Wison, Evy Jones, Molly and Lilly Clark; one sister, Cyndi Mitchell of Florence; in-laws, Evelyn Crawford of Sicily Island, Wendell Breland of Ridgecrest, Carolyn and Julian Lashute of Ferriday, Marshall and Mel Breland of Alto, and Noel Breland of Port Allen.
Pallbearers were Curt Crawford, Marshall Breland, Blaine Breland, Steve Minton, Butch Johnson and Kevin Perrin.
Honorary pallbearers were Gordon "PeeWee" Hughes, Bill Hughes, Paul Carter, Noel Breland, Wendell Breland and Julian LaShute.
