Vidalia High defeated Natchez High 75-56 Tuesday night,

Gary Stewart scored 17 of his 25 points in the first half, including making eight of his 10 free throw attempts.

Torrey Dixon scored 18 of his game-high 28 points in the second half.

The play of the night came seconds before halftime as Stewart threw a pass the length of the court that appeared headed for the Vidalia stage, but Dixon flew above the rim, caught it and laid it in.

Vidalia High will compete in the prestigious Sunkist Shootout in Lafayette at St. Thomas More High School begining Saturday.

Vidalia tips off play against Central Catholic of Morgan City.

Vidalia's girls fell to Bunkie Monday night 56-22 in their district opener.

The girls start district before the boys because the playoffs for girls begins a week early.

Gabby Wagoner led the Lady Vikings in scoring in the loss.

Vidalia returns to play after the Christmas holidays on January 5 with games at Jena.

The Vikings' first district home game is January 8 as Vidalia takes on Marksville.
