Ferriday drops pair to Madison
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Ferriday High dropped a pair of games at Madison High in Tallulah Friday.

The girls fell to the Lady Jaguars 51-40.

"They were without their top player with a broken hand, so I thought we could take advantage of that," said Ferriday coach Lisa Abron. "Both teams came out sluggish in the first half, but they finished strong. We could never get anything going offensively."

Jasmine Butler led Ferriday with 18 points.

Ferriday's boys fell to Madison, 73-46.

Ted Gullage led the Trojans with 24 points.

"We're just hoping to learn from each game," said Ferriday boys coach Glen Henderson. "We've played good competition and I don't think anyone in our district has played a tougher schedule than we have. Hopefully that will pay off for us."

Ferriday's girls faced Delhi Tuesday in the Rayville Shootout, while the Trojans took on Rayville. Results will be in next week's Sentinel.

Ferriday plays at Tensas Monday and in the Sicily Island Basketball Tournament Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
