Tony Joe White said he knew "Polk Salad Annie" would eventually become a hit from the reaction of the people who came to the clubs to hear him sing it back in the 1960s.

"I knew something was going to happen with that song sooner or later," White said.

The 66-year-old White, who was born in Oak Grove, will be singing "Polk Salad Annie" and several other hits when he is inducted into the Delta Music Museum Hall of Fame on April 3 in Ferriday.
