Funeral services for Carolyn Green Doles, 84, of Ferriday will be held Thursday, February 25, 2010, 11 a.m. at Clayton Baptist Church with Rev. John Williams officiating.

Graveside services will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery near Bastrop at 3 p.m. Services are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Doles was born January 14, 1926, in Monroe to Columbus A. and Pauline Allen Green. She passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010, in Ferriday.

She had been a resident of Concordia Parish since 1959 and a member of Clayton Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and Louisiana Tech University. She was a retired school teacher having taught in Morehouse, East Carroll and Concordia Parishes. Mrs. Doles was a devoted pianist for Clayton Baptist Church for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leon Doles.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette D. Webb and husband Jesse of Kisatchie, and Diane Doles of Ferriday; grandchild, Austin David Burr of Ferriday; sisters-in-law, Mildred Lupo of Mandeville and Peggy Drude of Reno, Nev.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Burr, Dr. Claude Current, Buck Andrews, Johnny "Red" Robertson, Jack Doles and Dave Doles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe. The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Sara Lee, nurses and staff at Riverland Medical Center and Tensas Home Health.
