Vandals destroy hospital heliport lights
Vandals destroyed 20 lights at the Riverland Medical Center (RMC) heliport in Ferriday Tuesday night, according to RMC Administrator Vernon Stevens.
"Fortunately, the heliport wasn't needed last night," Stevens said today (Wednesday). "If we would have needed to evacuate someone in a life or death situation it could have been devastating because a helicopter could not have landed."
