Monterey High's girls went down battling in a Class 2A first round playoff contest at Holden, but the Lady Wolves came up short, falling to the No. 12 Lady Rockets, 67-56.

"The girls fought hard and never gave up," said Monterey coach Cary Shively. "I'm proud of what they accomplished this season. Hopefully we can come back next season and get past the first round."
