Pryor named to succeed Harris Gail Pryor was elected to fill the seat of Ferriday Alderman Jerome Harris at a special meeting Tuesday until a special election is held on Oct. 2.
Pryor has to be verified by the Secretary of State's Office.
"You have some big shoes to fill," McGlothin said.
McGlothin called out the names to get votes. Somer Lewis was not at the meeting.
When Pryor's name was read first, Elijah "Stepper" Banks made the motion and Johnnie Brown also gave a yes vote.
Gloria Lloyd abstained.
The other four were Ann Baker, Fletcher Cummings, Georgia Anderson and Rev. Wilbur Mason.
Lloyd made a motion for Cummings, Anderson and Mason when their names were announced, but there was no second yes vote. |
