Ferriday Council names Pryor to Harris' alderman post

The Ferriday Town Council at a special meeting Monday named Gail Pryor to fill the seat of the late Ferriday Alderman Jerome Harris until a special election is held on October 2.

Pryor's appointment has to be verified by the Secretary of State's Office.

"You have some big shoes to fill," Ferriday Mayor Glen McGlothin told Pryor. "I appreciate the board and I thank the folks who put their names forward. It's a time-consuming job that's not always appreciated."
