Mary Lee Metcalf Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lee Metcalf, 84, of Cash Bayou were held today, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 2 p.m. at Sunnyside Church with Bro. Jerry Sharp, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Metcalf was born January 27, 1926, in Harrisonburg and passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Sicily Island.
She was a resident of Cash Bayou, a homemaker, also latter in her life she worked for Herritage Manor Nursing Home in patient transport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Noble Metcalf; father, John Marable McCarty; mother, Clara Evelyn McCarty; grandson, Chris Metcalf; brother, Marable Dan McCarty; and sister, Lucille McCarty Brooks.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Gousset of Natchez; son, James Marable "Shorty" Metcalf of Cash Bayou; grandson, Kirk Cavin of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Amanda Metcalf of Wesson, Miss.; sister, Laverne Butler of Tallulah; brother, Robert McCarty of Alvin, Texas; brother, Glendell McCarty of Newellton; and brother, Alton Gene McCarty of Houston.
Pallbearers were Casey Young, Butch Cavin, Ronnie Tyson, Ronnie Blaney, Russ Mason and Bill Harrell.
Honorary pallbearers were the New Orleans Saints. |
