No action take on former Ferriday mayor's property request

The Ferriday Town Council took no action Tuesday night on a request by former Ferriday Mayor Gene Allen to swap 9.9 acres of land he owns off Hwy. 15 for a half block at the former Pasternack's lot off First Street.

"I can tell you right off that we have to get an appraisal and write the Pasternack's because they donated the land," said Mayor Glen McGlothin.

Allen told the board he is unable to get to parts of his property because Ferriday Oil and Seed built a fence on the land. McGlothin said the town could build a fence and give Allen a key so he can get around his property.

"I'm only asking to swap it," Allen said.
