Concordia Parish Police Jury President Melvin Ferrington said Tuesday that a $400,000 settlement has been reached with parish engineers Bryant Hammett & Associates over the Phase 1 hardsurfacing lawsuit.

Ferrington said the firm has agreed to pay $400,000 to settle.

The Jury previously reached a settlement with W.E. Blain & Sons of Natchez and engineers Geotechnical Laboratories (GTL) of Alexandria. The settlement with Blain totaled $2.7 million, including an estimated $2.4 million in expenses for the reconstruction of 20 roads which Blain will perform. GTL agreed to a settlement of $300,000.
