Clarification sought on spending The Ferriday Town Council agreed during a special meeting Tuesday night to ask the Legislative Auditor to clear up two issues -- one involving a $300,000 certificate of deposit (CD) and the other scrap metal.
The Council approved alderwoman Gloria Lloyd's motion to write the Legislative Auditor for clarification. The funds came from Wal-Mart to offset loss sales taxes when the corporation left Ferriday.
The CD now totals $120,000.
McGlothin said some of the money from Wal-Mart was used for the water plant, sewer plant and other emergencies dealing with the water.
Lloyd, however, said the funds were not supposed to be touched.
